Exeter Community Initiatives (ECI) welcomed a group of valued supporters and long-standing funders to a special Afternoon Tea at The Palace, the official residence of the Bishop of Exeter, for a memorable afternoon celebrating ECI’s history and the people who help make its work possible.
The event was filled with warmth, smiles and wonderful conversations, bringing together people who have supported ECI and its work to help individuals, families and communities across Exeter and Devon build brighter futures.
Mark Goodwin, Chair of ECI’s Board of Trustees, spoke about the importance of ECI’s work and the support that enables the charity to continue making a difference. The Bishop of Exeter also shared the history of The Palace and its connection to ECI’s beginnings. It was a particularly meaningful setting for the occasion, as The Palace is where ECI’s story first began in 1993, when the organisation started as the Palace Gate Project.
ECI’s CEO, Ellie Taylor, also took the opportunity to express her heartfelt thanks to guests for their continued generosity, commitment and belief in the charity. Their support helps ECI deliver practical support, creative opportunities and community connections that make a lasting difference to people’s lives.
As a special memento, every guest received a scroll telling the story of ECI’s journey, from its beginnings in 1993 to the diverse range of projects and services it delivers today.
The afternoon was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how far ECI has come, celebrate the relationships that have helped shape the organisation and thank those who continue to stand alongside us.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to all our supporters who help make ECI’s work possible. Your support enables us to continue building brighter futures and stronger communities across Exeter and Devon.
