Volunteering is often about making a difference in someone else’s life, but sometimes the impact is just as profound for the volunteer.
One of our Transitions Project volunteers shares how joining ECI to develop coaching skills became a journey of personal growth, meaningful connection and inspiration. Their story highlights the power of feeling supported, valued and part of a community that truly lives its values.
“I am so enjoying my experience volunteering with ECI Transitions Project. I initially joined because I wanted to build my skills and experience in coaching – as a practical and important skill to bring to my work environment. But I’ve gained so much more than this. I’ve been both humbled and inspired by the client I’m working with. Some days I feel like I’ve gained so much more that I give.”
“I’ve always volunteered in different capacities, for different organisations, but never before received such thorough training and ongoing support as I do from ECI. Sarah and Pete have been amazing. I feel valued and respected as a volunteer, and with all the opportunities for meet ups, encouraged to feel a part of the wider ECI community.
For me, ECI is an organisation which truly lives its values – and it’s a privilege to be a part of it. Thank you!”
