We are pleased to announce that D’Arts, a well-loved creative arts charity supporting adults with additional needs will formally join the Magic Carpet Project from January 2026.
This partnership marks an exciting step forward and will allow the legacy of D’Arts to continue.
For participants, the transition will feel seamless. The volunteer team will remain the same, and the creative practitioners delivering sessions will continue as usual, while also taking the opportunity to introduce the D’Arts groups to new practitioners and fresh creative experiences.
“D’Arts has always been a joyful community rooted in creativity and connection, with a longstanding relationship with Magic Carpet” said Hannah, Magic Carpet Manager. “We’re excited to welcome the project and to continue supporting participants to thrive creatively and socially through their Saturday sessions.”
Judith Hedley- Dent who has been involved D’Arts since the beginning said the following:
“D’Arts has been active in Exeter for 15 years providing creative workshops at weekends once a month and running the excellent D’ArtsFest summer festival. We are proud that we have survived all the vagaries of funding and always kept our small charity afloat.
As a founding member of D’Arts and having run the charity for 13 of those years I believe this is now the right time to be joining the Magic Carpet Project under the Trusteeship of Exeter Community Initiatives. Magic Carpet is a well organised creative programme, and we have always worked closely with them. D’Arts can now be well supported to continue its creative connections in Exeter”
