What if volunteering could help you learn new skills, make friends and take a step towards your future? For Hasena, volunteering at Jelly has done just that.
When Hasena first joined Jelly, she wanted to gain work experience and practise her English. Since then, she has improved her speaking skills, built friendships and developed skills she hopes will help her move into paid employment in the future.
“The team at Jelly has supported me so much, especially Dawn, my manager, who I now consider a good friend.”
Hasena’s experience shows how volunteering can support personal goals while giving something back to the community.
It’s all part of Jelly’s wider impact: local people donate, local people shop, and volunteers help make it all happen. The income raised supports Exeter Community Initiatives (ECI) to make a difference to local people and communities.
Look what you’re missing out on! Could volunteering at Jelly be your next step?
