The Hon Treasurer is an unpaid role but a vital one in ensuring the good financial governance of ECI. The Hon. Treasurer is not expected to carry out day to day financial management activity, to draft financial policies, to produce reports or anything else that is “operational”. The main focus of the role is to provide assurance to the trustees of the charity on all financial matters and to advise on the underlying financial position of ECI and appropriate action where necessary.
The key criteria for becoming Hon. Treasurer are willingness to become a trustee of ECI, a recognised financial qualification and experience of financial management. We have identified the need for a trustee that can guide and direct us in our HR and workforce development. Ideally you will have experience of HR at a strategic level, able to give advice on HR and employment legislation, provide independent judgement and a willingness to give time and commitment to the role.
We have identified the need for a trustee that can guide and direct us in developing our day to day use of technology and to help us maximise the value of technology in delivering benefits to our community. Ideally you will have experience of technology at a strategic level, able to:
- Give advice on hardware, networking and remote access
- Give advice on maintenance, contracts and procurement
- Work with CEO and staff and volunteers to develop an ICT strategy that will aid our direct work with communities, families and individuals.
We have identified the need for a trustee that can guide and direct us in our marketing and fundraising functions. Ideally you will have experience of marketing and/or fundraising at a strategic level, able to give advice on marketing and communicating the excellent services we offer and/or advise on developing a fundraising strategy and our approach to increasing our unrestricted reserves.
All trustees should have experience in making strategic decisions, excellent communication skills, be committed to the aims and ethos of the organisation,
and be able to offer approximately one day per month.
Trustees are supported in their voluntary role by the Chair, other trustees and the ECI Management Team.
