Much of our work relies on the generosity of our supporters. Leaving a gift in your will is an important decision.

What can it achieve?

Exeter Community Initiatives prides itself on the fact that we are constantly evaluating the way we support our community to make sure we are helping those most in need.

Your donation can help develop fledgling projects: The Bike Bank was set up with support from donations.

It can bridge a funding gap and prevent projects from closing: Thanks to our supporters’ donations, Transitions was able to continue until it was given the money for a five year grant.

Here are a few types of gifts you can leave us in your Will:

  • A share of your estate. After you’ve provided for your family and friends, you can leave a share, or the remainder, of your estate to us. This is called a residuary gift.
  • Cash gift. This is when you leave an exact sum of money to us. It’s known as a pecuniary gift.
  • A specific gift. It might be a valuable piece of jewellery or a painting.
  • A gift in trust. You can leave a gift for someone to use over a period of time. When the time has ended, the gift can be passed on to other recipients, such as a
