Gentian’s background is in Social Work. She has worked in two main areas: Child Protection and Adults with Learning Disabilities. Gentian holds a DipSW, BSc Hons Health and Social Care Management and is studying for the National Professional Qualification in Integrated Centre Leadership. Gentian has two children, under 5, of her own as is passionate about providing universal support services to families.

Before joining us Helen was employed by WORKWAYS, an NHS Mental Health Service providing employment advice and practical support. On Friday evenings Helen and her husband run a social opportunities group, ‘SOCOPS’, for children with Aspergers’s and their families. Helen is dedicated to providing quality advice and information to our children and families. She is currently studying for an NVQ 3 in Advice and Information.

Lorna Braithwaite has been employed as the Qualified Teacher to support the work of the Children Centre. Lorna has two young children and has recently moved down to Devon with them from the Midlands. She has worked with young children and their families for a number of years as an early years teacher, as a parental support worker and as a Foundation Stage consultant. Recently Lorna has had more experience of multi agency working and of supporting a number of Children Centres in Sandwell and is looking forward to her new role in Devon.
