Structure and Purpose
Flying Start is a ‘virtual’ Children’s Centre. This means that instead of one building in one location, we provide services across the area we cover. You will find services supported or run by Flying Start in community buildings and open spaces in St James, St David’s, Newtown, Duryard and St Leonard’s. We also offer home visits.
Our role is to identify community need, and support groups already meeting these needs to continue. We also initiate the set up of new services to meet unmet need.
What does a Flying Start in life mean? The Children’s Centre aims for healthy, safe, happy, children and families who are achieving, part of their community, and financially secure. Families face all sorts of problems. Being a parent is challenging. We are here to support you and your family overcome the problems you encounter.
Please contact us to register with the centre and we will keep you up-to-date with events, activities and developments. You can find out what Flying Start Children’s Centre has to offer in our newsletter and our ‘Easy Guide’. Please request a copy.
