Little Stars Launch

A new International Mother and Toddler Group open’s its doors in Central Exeter.

Devon United Women and Flying Start Children’s Centre are hosting the launch of Little Stars, a new group for women of all nationalities and their under 5s. The launch will be in the Old Chapel at St Sidwell’s Centre, Sidwell Street, on Wednesday 3rd February, between 1.00 and 3.00 p.m. There will be food, crafts and a chance to share children’s songs from around the world. All women and their preschool children are welcome.

Growing Success!

ECI’s Harvest food-growing project has been awarded three years’ funding from the Lottery’s Local Food Fund.  Recruitment is under way for Harvest Project Workers and the project will commence activities in April.

Beacon Heath Community Project - Wassail Celebration Day

Sunday 17th January from 4pm - 5.30pm

Go to Mincinglake Valley Park Orchard (Calthorpe Road Entrance), Exeter to join in the Wassail Celebration Day.

'Wassail' is a fun, free event singing and toasting the health of the apple trees. There will be singers from the Wren Music Trust group ROOTS. Remember to wear sensible, warm outdoor clothes, bring lanterns, things to bang (pots & pans etc) and your singing voice!

PORCH - Successful funding bids

We have been awarded a grant of £121,775 for the PORCH Project from the government’s Hardship Fund. This grant covers the period from 1st October 2009 to 30th September 2010. We have also been awarded £10,000 from Exeter City Council for the same period.

Flying Start Job Club - Launch

PLEASE NOTE - Unfortunately, the Job Club launch has been postponed and will go ahead on Wednesday 3rd February from 10.30 - 12.30.

It will be held at St Sidwell’s Community Centre in the Old Chapel Room between 10.30 and 12.30.

Attending the launch will be advisors from Job Centre Plus, Child Care Referrals, Tax Credits, and advice on CV’s and back to work Training courses to help guide you back into work from a range of different angles.
