St Petrock's

St Petrock’s Centre for homeless people - From a small community project, run entirely by volunteers, the charity (as it is today) got it’s name when the Parish of Central Exeter allocated space in one of it’s churches - St Petrock’s - for a homeless centre.

Exwick Neighbourhood Project

ECI managed the Exwick Neighbourhood Project between August 2004 and August 2007. This built on the earlier work that had been carried out in Exwick through LINKS, a former project of ECI's.

The Exwick Neighbourhood Project worked to actively involve the members of the community, of all ages, in the issues that affect their lives and to improve the quality of life for those living in the area. Its aims were to empower them with the tools to make informed decisions that would aid the development of that community.

EATS

ECI took the decision in May 2007 to cease developing the EATS project. Unfortunately, bids made for funding were not successful.

However, the Amber Foundation was successful in securing funding in the Autumn of 2007 to enable a number of partners in Devon to provide their Practical Housing Units. These accredited units cover a range of independent living skills, which help people to access and sustain accommodation.

LINKS

The LINKS Project was set up in 2000 as a joint initiative between a number of Exeter based organisations.  LINKS aimed to:

Farm Hill & Kinnerton Way

The Farm Hill and Kinnerton Way Community Project (FHKWCP) worked to actively involve the community, of all ages, in the issues that affect their lives and empowering them with the tools to make informed decisions that will aid the development of that community. The project was a partnership between local residents, community groups and agencies working in the area.

Food Vouchers - Megabite

ECI ran the Food Voucher Scheme from 1992 until 2006 and sold over 30,000 vouchers during this time. The Scheme began because many agencies, church leaders and members of the public wanted to provide a practical way of feeding homeless people without wishing to give them money or take them to get a meal. The Voucher scheme provides a simple, fraud-proof way of providing this support. Vouchers can be:

Exeter Accredited Tenants' Scheme (EATS)

EATS (Exeter Accredited Tenants’ Scheme) was a partnership project offering a package of training courses and support to disadvantaged people to help them access and sustain accommodation.
