Helping support families in Exeter
The Parenting Coordination (PEIP) project is part of a national 'Think Family' initiative to support families with their parenting by offering access to parenting programmes. The project coordinates the delivery of evidence-based parenting programmes (to parents of children and young people aged 8 to 13 in Exeter, East Devon and Mid Devon) known to be effective in improving children and young peoples behaviour. The project promotes and supports multi agency working as the team of specially trained professionals delivering the programmes are from education, social care, health and specialist support services. The coordinator receives and processes the referrals and supports the delivery of the parenting programmes by over-seeing the process with the team from initial planning to delivering the courses.
The parenting programmes that are coordinated are The Incredible Years and Strengthening Families.
