The context within which integrated working happens is changing in Devon and the rest of the UK. However, the need for good quality integrated working remains. The evidence that integrated working produces much better results for children, young people and their families continues to grow.

This training aims to help you navigate the systems and improve your practice, in order that you can effectively carry out your job and continue to help those children and families that most need your help.

The training is in 2 parts.

Part 1 – a reference book & exercise book. The reference book is designed to give you a detailed overview of the various elements of integrated working that you need to know. It also gives you a resource you can refer back to. The exercise book contains questions and scenarios designed to help test your knowledge.

Part 2 – Core 1 day training. It is designed to build on the learning gained from Part 1 and give you practice within a peer group to improve your practice.

Throughout this training you will learn and practice how to:

• Build a deeper understanding of the principles of integrated working, including information sharing
• Complete the CAF
• Accurately identify needs of the child and family
• Successfully action plan with the child, family and the Team Around the Child using solution focussed working
• Positively contribute to a Team Around the Child meeting
• Be a lead professional.

You will also be supported to:

• Understand where to go to for further support and advice
• Reflect on practice with your peers in your locality.
