Fire Safety Checks

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue

Flying Start Children's Centre are able to offer families a free home safety visit thanks to Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.

"Every year thousands of people within the UK experience a fire in the home. Tragically, many of these result in injury or death."

Home Safety Visit

A large number of these fires could have been prevented if potential hazards in the home were identified and eliminated and the residents had a plan in case of emergency. To assist with this, your fire and rescue service has introduced 'Home Safety Visits'.

Home Safety Visits involve a fire and rescue service employee visiting your home to give advice and guidance in respect to fire and home safety needs. They will also assist you with the development of an escape plan.

All homes have different requirements but a Home Safety Visit should take no longer than 45 minutes.
