On Friday March 19th the Flying Start Team organised a Pram Push as part of Sports Relief.

 The mile started out in Belmont Park in Exeter where our walkers gathered bravely in the rain.

The group made their way up Sidwell Street and High Street towards Bury Meadow Park. (Opposite Exeter College Main Site)

The group arrived at the park a tad soggy but there were smiles all round! 

The Flying Start team,volunteers, bumps, babies and parents did the mile in 40 minutes and managed to raise over £100 for Sports Relief.

Come and join Flying Start Children's Centre for the weekly Pram Push!!!. Get out and about on a series of 30-40 minute walks in the cities green spaces, including a play park on the way.

Track your steps by using pedometers, meet other parents and children and join us for FREE!

The Pram Push will run every week on a Thursday, we will meet at St Sidwell's Community Centre at 10.30 and finish at St Sidwell's Community Centre with the choice to have a drink and a chat afterwards.

For regular participants of The Pram Push we will be organising a twice yearly coach trip and taking The Pram Push on the road to locations outside of the city such as beaches and woods for a change of scenery.

 Young Parents Group

The Young Parents group runs every Thursday at Belmont Hut in Belmont Park from 1.30 - 3.30.

Alex and Emma, two of our Family Support Workers run the group and they have just released the new timetable of events and sessions for this group.

Coming up is a mix of craft sessions, infant resusitation information, cooking and legal surgeries. For more details on these dates, visit our Young Parents page.

 New International Toddler Group

This new toddler group is run by Devon United Women and it will be launched on Wednesday 3rd February from 1.00 - 3.00 at St Sidwell's Community Centre.

Dads & Littluns

This is a toddler group especially for Dads and male carers, held at The Palace Gate Centre every Thursday from 10.00 - 12.00.

Baby Start

Baby Oasis is has now re-launched as Baby Start!

Goodie bags with breast feeding information, samples and freebies were given out to parents as well as a bunch of daffodils and the whole of St Sidwell's was taken over with the re-launch. The event was well attended and the launch was covered by the parenting page of The Express and Echo.

The group still runs on a Monday afternoon between 1.30 - 3.30 at St Sidwell's Community Centre but now has additional services included. These include access to the Health Visitors  Clinic, a breast feeding room with advisor, a stay and play area, healthy refreshments and help and advice from our family Support Workers.
