Counselling

Counselling in its simplest form is one person listening to another and trying to understand what it is like for that person to exsist in and experience their world.

Counselling is a joint experience, it takes time to build up a relationship of honesty, trust and respect and only when that happens can a therapeutic change take place for that person.Stick men

A counselling session will usually last about 50 minutes. In the first session you will look at confidentiality, what your expectations are for counselling and if these expectations can be met. You will also discuss how your counsellor may be able to help you and then you can decide if our counsellor is the kind of person that you can work with.

Stepping StonesIt won't all be tears and heartache, there is often humour in counselling, whilst still maintaining respect and mindfulness of where you are in your experience.Blank signpost

To be in a counselling relationship, is to be in a relationship with yourself, going on a journey of self discovery with your counsellor alongside you.
